Specialist Football (Soccer) Program (approved)

Soccer School of Excellence

Woodvale Secondary College is the only Department of Education approved Soccer Specialist Program located in the northern suburbs.  As such the College has the only Soccer Program allowed to take students across boundaries in the northern suburbs. Commencing in 2000, the program caters for both genders, with classes for all year groups (7 – 12).

AIMS OF THE PROGRAM

To develop skills, attitudes and knowledge in students that will enable them to compete successfully in soccer, at the highest levels.

  • Develop individual skills: passing; ball control; heading; dribbling; shooting; tackling
  • Develop team skills: team formations, set plays, principles of defence; principles of attack
  • Provide information relating to diet and nutrition
  • Develop coaching skills culminating in a Junior Coaching Licence
  • Understand the rules for refereeing, culminating in a Level One Refereeing Certificate
  • Participate in Sports Fun program
  • Participate in fitness and weight training sessions
  • Provide work experience in the soccer industry (when requested)
  • Understand the physiological requirements for soccer.

Year 7 2020 Football (Soccer) Specialist Program

Applications will be accepted at College Reception from Wednesday 27 February 2019 until Wednesday 13 March 2019. Applications will be accepted between the hours of 8:30am and 12pm, or by appointment outside of these hours.

INCOMPLETE AND LATE APPLICATIONS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.

Please ensure you include the following documentation with your Application.

  • Completed Enrolment Application Form 2020 - see link below
  • Completed Soccer Specialist Program Application Form 2020- see link below
  • Soccer Player Profile completed by club coach/teacher - see link below
  • Soccer Student Questionnaire 2020 completed by applicant - see link below
  • Copies of last year’s Semester 1 and 2 school reports
  • Birth certificate (originals must be sighted and a copy provided)
  • Immunisation report (originals must be sighted and a copy provided)
  • 3 x proof of address – must include two utility bills ie: water, gas, electricity (originals must be sighted and a copy provided)

PLEASE NOTE NO PHOTOCOPIES CAN BE MADE AT THE COLLEGE.
