Specialist Football (Soccer) Program (approved)

Soccer School of Excellence

Woodvale Secondary College is the only Department of Education approved Soccer Specialist Program located in the northern suburbs.  As such the College has the only Soccer Program allowed to take students across boundaries in the northern suburbs. Commencing in 2000, the program caters for both genders, with classes for all year groups (7 – 12).

AIMS OF THE PROGRAM

To develop skills, attitudes and knowledge in students that will enable them to compete successfully in soccer, at the highest levels.

  • Develop individual skills: passing; ball control; heading; dribbling; shooting; tackling
  • Develop team skills: team formations, set plays, principles of defence; principles of attack
  • Provide information relating to diet and nutrition
  • Develop coaching skills culminating in a Junior Coaching Licence
  • Understand the rules for refereeing, culminating in a Level One Refereeing Certificate
  • Participate in Sports Fun program
  • Participate in fitness and weight training sessions
  • Provide work experience in the soccer industry (when requested)
  • Understand the physiological requirements for soccer.

Applications open Wednesday 14 March. Applications close Thursday 5 April.

Application Forms

Specialist program applications must be submitted in person at College Reception between the hours of 8:15am - 12pm or by appointment. Late or incomplete applications will not be accepted.

When returning your application to enrol form for your child at the School, please check that you have both the original and a copy of the following documents in support:

    • Birth Certificate
    • School Reports (2017  Semester 1 & 2 )
    • Court Order (if applicable)
    • Proof of address. Three pieces of recent evidence (must include 2 utility bills).

Utility Bills

    • Water Corps;
    • Synergy accounts;
    • Alinta or Kleenheat Gas accounts.

Other accepted documents

    • Title of the property showing ownership*;
    • Documents showing the completed purchase of a property;
    • Telephone accounts;
    • Current bank statements showing the address;
    • Driver’s licence.

*If renting, a copy of the tenancy agreement must be provided.

Applicants must bring their own copies of documents as the College is unable to make photocopies.
