Mock Trial Competition

Monday 18 March 2019 - H Richards, R Lazarus and J Edwards took our very first team to the Mock Trial competition held at the Supreme Court of WA.

Monday 18 March 2019 H Richards, R Lazarus and J Edwards took our very first team to the Mock Trial competition held at the Supreme Court of WA. We were up against Rossmoyne SHS and it is our pleasure to announce that we won the round, both on points and on the case decision! The students were arguing a grievous bodily harm case, claiming self-defence – it was quite a difficult case to win, however the students were so well prepared and had excellent understanding of the case materials which lead us to a win! We had a team of 6; Jess H, Dinesh T, Ryan H, Brayden K, Katie G and Ethan H, plus 6 reserves who helped them prepare (Amy B, Shantelle J, NJ G, Josh F, Ansu M and Amani N).

The judge pointed out Jess H (Year 11) and Dinesh T (Year 10) as being exceptional in the role of Barristers – specifically Jess’s cross examination and Dinesh’s closing statement, both of them demonstrating a very impressive ability to think on their feet and work as a team.

We have 2 more rounds to go so we’ve started out extremely well!
