Student Leadership Group - Development Days 2018

Our Student Leadership Group (SLG), consisting of our 26 Prefects, made their way to the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre on Monday 19 March for the annual GRIP Student Leadership Conference. This practical and interactive training conference provided our student leaders the opportunity to select and engage in a variety of workshops focussed on developing leadership skills and attributes. The following day, our student leaders put into practice what they had learnt at the conference about effective communication, problem solving and lateral thinking by participating in some escape room challenges at Ultimate RoomScape.

Our prefects said this was a highlight activity for them over the two days and really enjoyed the opportunity to work closely with their Prefect group to solve some very challenging puzzles!

The second day concluded with a 2018 Student Council planning meeting. Our young leaders reflected on what they could take away from the previous two days, designated roles and responsibilities within the SLG and set some goals and priorities for what they wanted to achieve this year.

We would like to commend our Prefects on their responsible, committed and highly engaged approach to the development days and look forward to seeing all that they will achieve in 2018.
