From 4 – 18 April this year, the music department embarked on its latest tour. The Symphonic Wind Orchestra, Senior Guitar Ensemble and Jazz Encounter toured Tasmania, performing nine concerts at various schools and public venues. The feedback from the schools in particular was very pleasing, with Bowen Street Primary school sending “it was great to end the school term on such a ‘high’.  Congratulations to all involved”.

The tour began in Hobart and nine days later made its way to Strahan, Zeehan, Cradle Mountain finishing in Launceston with the traditional tour dinner celebration. During the tour the group immersed itself into the history of the penal system by visiting historic sites such as Port Arthur and Sarah Island.

Congratulations to all students and staff who participated in this very successful tour- the latest in a series of 12 major tours since 1992.
