Woodvale's got Talent!

On Wednesday 20 June, a fantastic afternoon filled with food, activities and entertainment was experienced by staff and Year 7-10 students.

Our amazing Year 9/10 Student Council shared ideas and worked together to organise an afternoon of games and activities in the Sports Centre followed by a Talent Show.

A sausage sizzle started events, with all sausages, buns and condiments generously donated by our P&C Committee. Our Home Economics team and parents of our Year 9 students made delicious baked goods for sale. We also had some incredible offerings donated from Sugar and Nice. Sincere thanks to you all!

In the sports centre, students played a variety of games including penalty shootout, free throw basketball, and a handball accuracy challenge, winning some terrific prizes. Our Science team organised a fun STEM activity where students used their imagination and creative skills to make a lolly-grabber to scoop their prizes. We also had an art and photography competition and a general knowledge quiz to make sure all students at Woodvale had an opportunity to shine in a diverse range of skills. The afternoon culminated in a Talent Show, in which the audience were literally AMAZED by the quality of the acts. Singers, saxophonists, drummers, pianists, our karate kid and more really wowed everyone with their confidence, attitude and skill.

Photos were taken by Georgie L, and our cinematographer Jess C is currently working on the video of the event! Both are members of the WSC Media Club, and we’re very grateful they gave up their time to be there, thank you very much.

Thank you to local businesses who donated prizes to our event; including Woody’s Pizza, Latitude Aerial Joondalup and Woodvale BikeForce. Our immense gratitude for your generosity. Thanks as always to the staff here at Woodvale Secondary College, who always go above and beyond to ensure our students enjoy their experiences.
