WSC Partners with ECU

Year 11 and 12 Senior Soccer VET students attended a series of lectures at Edith Cowan University Joondalup focussing on Sports Science and Human Biomechanics.

The students were fortunate to hear from current ECU student and Perth Glory physiologist, Cameron, studying his Masters in Sport Science (Football).

At the conclusion of the lectures, Sports Science staff fixed each student with a GPS and Heart Rate monitor for a practice game against Safety Bay SHS. Woodvale SC had a comfortable 7 – 0 win and now also have current data linked to their individual work rates while on the field. This will be invaluable as we lead in to the competitive season of 2016.

ECU provided the students with a hands-on university experience that has inspired them to work hard to reach their goals. We thank Dr Fadi Ma’ayah, Course Co-ordinator, and his team for continuing to partner with us to improve our program.
