INTERNATIONAL SOCCER COMES TO THE NORTHERN SUBURBS!
On Thursday February 12, Year 10 students braved 40 degree heat in an international game against Cardinal Heenan Catholic Sports School on tour from Liverpool, England. While the heat took its toll on our International visitors, the spirit and competitive nature of the game wasn’t lacking!
The day was set up as a seven-a-side competition with local schools invited to compete. These included Clarkson, Ocean Reef, Balcatta, Kinross and of course Woodvale Senior High School’s Year 10 Soccer Excellence students.
In a close game against our international guests, Woodvale scored the
all important goal to triumph 1-0. Going on to be undefeated for the
day, we unfortunately drew 3 games to end up coming second overall.
Woodvale’s top goal scorer for the day was Liam McGurk (5), with Harri
Cherry, Luke Clark, Robert Sharif and Adam Lagana scoring one each.
Congratulations to all players for their efforts and the way they
presented themselves throughout the day, they were a credit to the
program and we look forward to making this an annual event.
