Academic Enrichment

Creativity. Critical Thinking. Connection.

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

Re: Year 7 students 2021

In keeping with the direction of our new Business Plan 2021-2023, the Academic Enrichment program for 2021 will be targeting the twenty first century skills of working collaboratively, critical thinking, creativity and communication skills.  This exciting program encourages students to develop into independent learners under the direction of our Academic Enrichment Coordinators. They will be given opportunities to follow their passions and supported in demonstrating their talents through various competitions and challenges. Students will also experience mentoring by teachers and peers.

It gives me great pleasure to announce that academic enrichment testing for entrance into the Academic Enrichment program at Woodvale Secondary College will commence again this year.

To encourage participation and assist in the selection process for this program, complimentary testing will be offered to selected students at the College on Saturday 15 August 2020 from 1-2 pm in the Music Centre. Parents will meet our Associate Principal and be taken for a tour of the College while their child sits the test. Further to this, we are pleased to offer an Academic Enrichment scholarship to students with the highest scores.

Please download and complete the application form and submit it in person to the Front Office before 3pm Monday 3 August 2020. A panel will assess all applications and invite the most competitive to sit the academic testing. You will be informed of the outcome of your application in writing via email.

We look forward to receiving your child’s application to be considered for this exciting program.

Kind regards

Lea Fairfoul-Hutcheon
