2021 will see the last intake of Year 7 students into our Specialist Football (Soccer) Program. Those students will be in Year 10 in 2024, at the end of which the Program will cease.  

 

This program gives students the opportunities to achieve success and reach their potential in the game of Soccer. The College provides elite level teaching and learning programs that allow each student to improve in all aspects of the game.  

 

In this program students are given the opportunity to participate in Soccer competitions, strength and conditioning development, officiating course, guest coaches and more.  

 

The Specialist Soccer Program aims to further: 

    • Develop individual skills: passing; ball control; heading; dribbling; shooting; tackling 
    • Develop team skills: team formations, set plays, principles of defence; principles of attack 
    • Provide information relating to diet and nutrition 
    • Develop coaching skills culminating in a Junior Coaching Licence 
    • Understand the rules for refereeing, culminating in a Level One Refereeing Certificate 
    • Participate in Sports Fun program 
    • Participate in fitness and weight training sessions 
    • Provide work experience in the soccer industry (when requested) 
    • Understand the physiological requirements for soccer.
